JONESES!

i was excited when erika contacted me last spring about doing an extended family shoot with her in-laws, 14 people in all. i have photographed erika’s immediate family a few times before and they are probably the nicest people you can find! saturday was finally the day of the shoot and as i was driving to the state park in monroe the sun was no where to be found. i checked weather.com about 5 times that morning on my i-phone and it assured me the rain would hold off until after noon. well of course, about 20 minutes into our 9am session the rain started so we had to book it to the gazebo. i did not want to make 14 people all meet again another day so we plugged along under the gazebo for a while and even found (thanks erika!) an awesome opening under a huge tree that sheltered us from the rain but worked great for photos. everybody was so wonderful to work with and erika did such a great job organizing the shoot!

this little babe is 8 months old and this is her first photo-shoot! i looove all the girlishness! (probably because i am swimming in boys over here.)

then we skipped over to a nearby park and did a few family pics!

here’s another wonderful family that i have played with so many times and was so happy to see again this week!

i can’t believe this sweet little girl is already 1! look at how much she’s grown this past year:

we met up at a new location (that i loved) in ann arbor yesterday. she was in such a happy mood and i love that we included big brother and mom and dad too!

i love a saturday morning with no where to be but home!

i’m trying to be optimistic that my session tonight is not going to get rained out! keep your fingers crossed for me!

i hope all the dads out there are having a great father’s day! here’s one of my personal favorite daddy.

look who’s 9 months old! she keeps getting cuter and cuter!

if i could turn these pictures below into my family pictures i think i would. i love everything about them,
from the lighting, the colors, the mix of traditional and modern; yeah, pretty much everything!

see that big rock over there on the left. that’s where dad proposed to mom years ago! how sweet, right? i’m so glad we have it in a few of their pictures.

i had so many favorites that i wasn’t going to put up any of the kids individually, but then i just had to include this one
of “princess”, as they called her! she was so full of smiles that i was beaming! i could photograph her all day long.

this lovely family gets an a++ for coordinating everybody’s outfits! i love the colors; they scream spring to me. they also get an a++ for not letting a little rain scare them away on saturday. they stamped through the wet grass like troopers! i was very happy not have to reschedule as i am getting down to the wire before my maternity leave.

bare feet is definitely the way to go outside with kids!

i had to get a few of emilia in her matilda jane outfit. isn’t she adorable? i love matilda jane and if i had a little girl i’m pretty sure she would have a few fifty of them!

thanks shawn, pat, and kids!
