i hung out with tyler last night, a senior at airport high school in carleton. he plays varsity football, basketball, and baseball. so of course, we incorporated that into some (ok, maybe many!) of his photos.

first we got the formal stuff out of the way.

and then we got had a little fun.

last we went out to his backyard.

stay tuned for more of tyler done on the ball fields!

i always love it when people ask my advice on coordinating outfits for their portraits. i love bright colors on kids (and sometimes on adults too). clothing can completely make or break a portrait. beautiful white dresses on little girls can give the photos a soft, sweet feel. put them in bright outfits and the photo is all of a sudden more fun and lively. you have to think about what you want the end result to be and go from there.

this next family cheated a little bit, because i told them exactly what i envisioned their family wearing to create a perfect family portrait. i think it worked out to a t.

this next one is my favorite, because this is exactly how sophia is…

i love all the feet lined up next to each other!

and now the three oldest individually (sophia turns one next month and will have her own photoshoot).

this second time mom-to-be almost didn’t make it to our photo session because baby sister thought about coming a few weeks early. i’m really glad we were able to get in. mom looks beautiful and they are such a happy family.

big sister thinks mom’s belly makes the comfiest of chairs!

thanks “m” family and congrats on your pending arrival!

check out this cute little baldie! it seems like just yesterday i took his newborn photos and now he is 6 months old. i have a feeling he and cousin jack will be finding trouble together one day very soon.

all the jones boys like to chew on wood! ;)

and now a few of big sister, gracie, who just turned 2!

what could be cuter than a little pig-tailed girl with a pettiskirt and pink parasol?

i love the back-lighting in this next one.

and just in case you were wondering where these kids got their good looks from, it’s definitely their aunt sarah.

errh…oh wait, here’s one with mom and dad! they aren’t too shabby either.

this sweet little guy just moved in next door to us! he has been my oldest newborn and was a little trickier to pose, but i think we still got some awesome shots!

thanks “v” family! he really is perfect!

look at all of these cute cousins! their parents decided to surprise grandma and grandpa with a group photo. here are a few highlights:

and i love this last one, especially with it being father’s day and all:

thanks everybody! i hope grandma and grandpa love them!

this pretty little girl just turned 1. she made me really hope jack gets a little sister some day! i especially loved her little pigtail on top of her head and all of her chub too!

and now a few from her cake smash! she showed her boyfriend from a few weeks ago how it’s done!

she worked the cake from all angles and at one point even tried to figure out to go in head first (a girl after my own heart!)

thanks “f” family! i hope you enjoyed your sneak peak!

i met this lovely couple last night at shepherd’s hollow golf club in clarkston. they are both gorgeous; you would think they model. oh wait, janice does model, and honestly, casey could too!

love sure looks good on them, don’t ya think?

i know a session is going to go great when i ask if they are willing to lay down in the grass and they’re like “sure”!

this is a huge share, but i couldn’t pick just 4 or 5 favorites. thanks so much, janice and casey and congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

i decided to use this “whatever wednesday” opportunity to show-off a few of the products i offer.

first off, the prize for the winner of my blog contest, with 48% of the votes (over 600!): a beautiful 16×20 gallery wrapped canvas. these photos definitely don’t do it justice.

here is the side view. they are available in either 3/4 inch or 1-1/2 inch wrap. this is the 3/4 inch. i absolutely love these. they come ready to hang, no frame necessary.

i hand-delivered this to the lucky winners and we held it up to their wall and it looked awesome. the great thing is that you really can get away with a larger size, even in a small space, since you don’t need a mat or frame. i have a feeling my walls will be covered in these before long!

next up is my wood gallery mount:

once again these are awesome because you don’t need a frame and they come ready to hang. you get the choice of black or white, and are perfect for smaller spaces ( like an office ) because you can combine several photos into a collage or story board. if you would like to see a design of one from your session, just ask!

here is the side view:

last but not least ( i love these little guys) are my accordian brag books:

these are great for mom’s purse and are also perfect for grandma!

alexa is 9 months old, so it was time for another photo shoot. there are so many things i loved about this session that i decided to make a list.

1. alexa was the perfect model, such a happy, photogenic baby!

2. i also took 6 month photos of alexa (click here to see them) i love being able to see my clients, especially babies, grow. they change so fast, and it is so awesome that i get to capture it.

3. last but not least, her outfits are adorable. i love it when my client’s and my taste line up perfectly! it is always a good idea, especially for babies and children to have a few different outfits to choose from. mom showed me four, and i LOVED every single one of them. i love bright colors in photos and these definitely don’t disappoint. they really make the photos pop!
