Pazy's Portraits » modern photography for seniors, babies, kids, and families

of course i love pictures of kids smiling and looking at the camera, but even more than that i love pictures of kids being real. those are the photos that you’ll look back and remember exactly how they were at that point in time. this cutie-pie loves to suck her thumb and brought her teddy along for the session! i love it!

i think i shared with you a while back that before i had sam i was a little nervous. i was nervous that jack would be forgotten and at the same time nervous that i couldn’t love another child as much as i loved jack. i now know that both of these worries were so silly.

last may, i decided to document a whole day of one of jack’s last days as an only child. i hoped that through these photos he could look back and “remember” exactly what it was like to be two.

i was 8.5 months pregnant when i did this and was exhausted at the end of the day. jack wasn’t the most cooperative and i didn’t think i really liked what i captured. well, fast forward 8 months and i absolutely LOVE these pictures. i had a really hard time narrowing them down for the blog. i’m so glad i did this! even more for me than for him! i hope to make this a yearly thing with each of my kids; hopefully, the editing doesn’t always take me 8 months!

i wasn’t sure if a two-year-old in the bathtub was internet appropriate. john said if i have to ask then the answer is probably no. i figured jack will thank me for that one day! it’s hard to believe how much he has changed in eight short months. another eight months from now he’ll be starting pre-school. back when i took these pictures he had shaggy hair, ate in a high chair, liked to be rocked to sleep, slept in a crib, and sat down to go potty. i also just realized that he no longer snuggles those puppies that he has in that last picture! 🙁 my baby is growing up! his newest nickname is jackie two times because he repeats everything at least two times (probably more like ten times though!) these pictures are a big reminder to me not to wish away how they are right now.

“momma, will you hold two boys?”. that was jack’s favorite thing to say after right after i had sam. i was always holding feeding sam and it was jack’s way of getting held too. it was also his way of melting my heart.

i took these pictures before christmas but just realized i never shared them with you all! i love my two boys, especially now that they are in bed for the night! 😉
